We obtained this tintype because of the photographers name and location. W.H. Clark was the photographer in Coffeville Kansas at the time of the Dalton Raid . He actually bought the gun that had been used to kill Bob Dalton. George Cubine was one of the people killed by the Dalton Gang during the Coffeyville Raid. . There are no known photographs of the people killed by the Dalton Gang during the raid. This is a possible candidate for being Cubine. He was born in 1856 and died OCT 5, 1892 during the raid. He was married to a Alice A. Keyton in 1881 .The population of Coffeyville was 700 to 800 at the time of the raid. There is a Sketch of Cubine and the other dead defenders published in the Coffeyville Journal Oct 7, 1892 . You can view that image at the link below . He appeared to be balding with a large mustache and long nose in the sketch . At the time of his deatch he was about 36 years old .Breaking down the population of Coffeyville at the time and the percentage of Men to Women , amount of children in the population , and age of men in the population... , we concluded that maybe 10 men would match up to the sketch in town at the time .
