This is our tintype of Jesse Woodson James. We acquired this gem sized photo in a great photo album in 2007. Below this photo eas written J. James . The album was not advertised with this information . Of course, J. could stand for John , Jim, Jethro, Etc ....... . We started researching Jesse James and after some intense comparisons with the known images of him , have concluded that this was indeed James. The best undisputed photo of James is when he was photographed as one of William Clarke Quantrill's Raiders . Our photo and video clearly shows that the young photo of Jesse James matches up , as one would expect , to him 10 to 15 years later in life. We believe our photo is from the mid to late 1870's . We did find a drawing on Philip Steele's site that shows a redrawn copy of a drawing that was on the wall at Jesse James home . We believe our tintype is the missing tintype that drawing is based on . James is looking straight into the camera and clothing Ect.. match up.
This album had some interesting photos of other people in it . They will be referenced as being from the James album. When viewing these other photographs , please keep in mind that the ones identified look like people who were associated with james at some point in his life . That is not just a coincidence . Our collection started at this point .

Our image with James at 15 or 16 years of age
Please watch our comparison video of the two images above . The photograph of James at 15 or 16 is the best , I believe, of James. Although the difference in age is 10 years or more , you can see what the 15 year old James would look like as an adult male. No other photo of James out there matches up as our photograph does. If one does, I would like to see it.
