a new look at history
This is one of our Gems in our photograph collection. . It is a circa 1853 TO 1855 Daguerreotype of 4 lovely chidren made at Brady's Gallery 359 Broadway New York. This is a 1/2 plate size Dag. The Brady case which houses the Dag had been in contact with fire at some point in it's history. The photo was unharmed even though the preserver was burnt on the left side of the image. We believe this is one of the most beautiful images to come out of a Brady Studio.. Your eyes are drawn to the little girl in the center . Just lovely. We added a circa 1851 image of Brady and his wife Juliet with Mrs. Hagerty . There is a similar posed style in both images. It is unknown if Brady himself or another photographer working in his studio made our Daguerreotype..
